List of Problems

  1. Registration disable
  2. Every time I try to play Startrek I get this: "Run-time error '5' invalid procedure call or argument" How can I fix it?
  3. Comes up with req. saying program is not licensed.
  4. Can't access registered features.

Regestration disable

STVersion:
Version 1.2 and higher Single-Machine License
Date:
07 May 1999

This program is not licensed. The registered features have been disabled.

Response (5/7/99)

These cases should be handled on a one on one basis, but here are some general guidelines:

Some of the information might be entered incorrectly. First, run RegTool.exe and make sure that the code it displays matches your order receipt, then type in the license code again from your receipt. If the program still is unlicensed, the serial number is probably the culprit. E-mail me to get a program that will clear your serial number so you can re-enter it.

This should cause the game to function correctly.  If the RegTool program displays a code different from the one I typed above, stop and e-mail me the code it does give you.

If you still get this error, or have any problems, please let me know.

Update

If you have played with the registered features sucessfully before, but have suddenly started getting this message, please e-mail me.

Every time I try to play Startrek I get this:"Run-time error '5' invalid procedure call or argument" How can i fix it?

STVersion:
Version 1.21
Date:
11 Dec 1998

StepsToReproduce

This is what I was told that made this happen:

My brother opened up the generate registration code file and wrote some numbers then I opened up the game and i got the message.

P.S.: I uninstalled the game and installed it again and I still get the error message.

ErrorMessage

Run-time error '5'

invalid procedure call or argument

Resolution (12/11/98)

This problem is caused when invalid codes are placed in the Registration Tool included with the game.  Do not type anything into the "License Code" text box, unless you have a valid code after registration.  If this error occurs, please re-run the Registration Tool and type in a valid code.

Comes up with req. saying program is not licensed.

STVersion:
Version 1.22
Date:
15 Jul 1999

StepsToReproduce

  1. Start RegTool
  2. Enter license number.
  3. Start Star Trek. (this last step can be repeated to reproduce the bug)

ErrorMessage

This program is not registered. The registered features have been disabled. If you feel you have gotten this message in error, please e-mail ajmarti@siue.edu to rectify the situation.

Response

The resolution to this problem is above.

Can't access registered features.

STVersion:
Version 1.22 w/Planet Pack
Date:
16 Jul 1999

StepsToReproduce

  1. Start Star Trek
  2. Start a game
  3. Bring up game options
  4. Go to SRS tab
  5. The selections for 256, True Color, and 3D are ghosted out.
  6. When the Large Pictures checkbox is checked, the SRS window does become larger, but without any ship, star, klingon, etc. pictures.

Response (7/16/99)

The 256, True Color, and 3D ships styles have not been released yet, that is why they are ghosted. They are not limited to the registered version. When they are released, it will be an add-on pack.

The Large Pictures bug has eluded me as yet, but I hope to have it fixed in the next release.
